Great for traveling

Our 2-year-old loves this CD! He enjoys dancing to it at home and it also keeps him entertained on road trips. Since it has some of the songs from our youth, it isn't as annoying to us as a lot of kids albums.

Sesame Street Rocks!

The classics!

Wonderful music -- all the classics as I remember from my childhood, and now my kids can enjoy these songs, too. My favorite is Ernie's sad song, "I Don't Want to Live on the Moon," but my boys especially love "Happy Tappin' With Elmo," and "C is for Cookie." My 16-month old is a HUGE fan of Grover, and so he really loves the "Monster in the Mirror" song.

This is a great mix of music to sing and dance and clap along with -- wubba-wubba-wubba-wubba-woo-woo-woo!

A wonderful gift for a grandchild

I am about 10 years too old for Sesame Street (we had Captain Kangaroo) but my little sister played her Sesame Street 8-tracks ALL THE TIME, so I know these classics all too well.

My oldest child has a two year old and takes her to day care and back five days a week. Listening to recordings made for children make the drives bearable. When she complained that her current CDs were getting old (one can listen to Raffi for just so long) I choose this CD from her wish list. Here is an album that both my grand-daughter AND my daughter enjoy listening to. It brings back older, happy memories for the mom and is creating new ones for her daughter. You can't go wrong with this one!

great sing along

My daughter and I both love this CD and play it almost every other day. We don't ever watch the show (it is never on TV here in the Czech Republic) but the songs are still a lot of fun. It is also nice that the lyrics are printed in the CD booklet so it was easy to learn the words. I definitely recommend it to everyone. I plan to use it in my English classes too (even my adult students enjoy children's songs) since the songs are easy enough to understand.

Old versions of songs means unfamiliarity for new viewers.

My daughter adores Sesame Street, she loves the songs and of course, Elmo! She just turned 2, and I picked this CD up for a 9-hour drive we had ahead of us. She did like it, but some of it was frustrating to her because she didn't recognize the voices, and some of the songs were different than what she was used to. I'd keep this in mind if you have a child that this might phase.

If you love Sesame Street...

I bought Sesame Street Live Platinum All Time Favorites for my 12-month-old after borrowing Elmo's Greatest Hits from our library. We loved Elmo's Greatest Hits so much I wanted to buy it but it wasn't eligible for Free Super Saver Shipping, so I went for this one instead because it has many of the same songs. My little one loves it and it's not (too) annoying for me! I've been caught belting out some of the songs. It has a version of "Sing" that is sung by children and their little voices are so sweet it makes me tear up. I also had a few retro moments listening to "Rubber Ducky" and "C is for Cookie." I recognized them from the Sesame Street Fever record album that I loved to annoy MY mom with when I was little! I guess what goes around comes around.

Platinum Favorites Fun, but a bit too old school.

My 14 month old seems to enjoy the CD. There are some songs that we really enjoy like Elmo's Song. The ones we like tend to be the slightly newer songs. But a lot of the songs are really a bit too old school. Why couldn't they find kids who could actually sing in tune to sing the Sesame Street theme song. This off-key rendition makes my teeth ache.

Fun for my 8 month old, my 6 year old and us :O)

Great tunes for tots and parents!

My two year old loves this CD! The songs are the tried and true favorites from Sesame Street. This is also one of the few children's CD's that won't make Mom and Dad crazy after listening to it over and over. I would recommend it for the youngest child up to the most fun loving adult. Great classic music

This CD has all of the classics that I remember from childhood and also sang with my now 11 year old niece. Now I sing them with my 9 month old daughter who loves them as well. Her favorite is the Sesame Street Theme song. Her toes just start tapping and her head starts bopping immediately.

LOVE THIS CD

My daughter and I listen to this CD every night before bed time. I have my favorite songs and she and I dance around and listen to the beat. I sing the songs and she's learning them (she's 2). We have a great time listening to this CD and she listens to the characters talking or singing. It's a plus for every child who loves the Sesame Street characters, including Mommies & Daddies.

I bought this C.D. when my daughter was 16 months and she loved it from the start! She's now 2 and still wants it every time we get in the car. Every song is wonderful. Of course she has her favorites; Monster Song-"Wubba, wubba" she calls it or Hands, Shoulders, Knees,... As the months have past the request have changed to Oscar's trash song or Big Bird's Ab-c-def-i. Now our entire play group has the C.D. and we all find ourselves singing along or quoting lyrics. None of the kids can get enough of it. You'll find yourself singing the tunes in the shower too. It has all the songs I remember as a child growing up in the 70's. I'm so happy to share it with her. You can't go wrong with this C.D. Best one in our collection!!! I'd give it a 6 Star if I could.

Nice cd for the car,

Babycenter, an online store has this cd right now for under $9. I am glad I added it to an order since it is a nice and non-annoying cd that has the classics from Sesame Street and an Elmo song. Can't go wrong with Sesame Street usually and this one is no exception. I am glad to put it in rotation for our trips to the grandparents.

Timeless favorites

Sound quality could be better

The songs on this CD are fine; we own a lot of them on tapes (cassettes are better for my kids since they have their own little tape players, of the Fisher-Price type), but the sound quality of many of the recordings is not high. My 4 yo enjoys hearing the songs and dancing along with the music.

I bought this CD along with a Wiggles CD in anticipation of a 2 day car trip we were making with our 20 month old son. The songs are wonderful and we all (my husband, my son, and myself) really enjoy it. Truthfully, I think my son prefers the wiggles because he recognises the songs more and they are all more upbeat. However, its a lot easier for us adults to listen to the Sesame Street over and over and over. One comment is that these songs were recorded a while ago, so some of the characters sound a little bit different than they do now.

Could be better

Like the majority of people, I grew up watching Sesame St and even continued to watch it periodically as a teen and adult. Now with two boys under the age of 4, I enjoy reviving some memories. Most of the songs are good, however, the 2nd song by "Big Bird" sounds as though it isn't really him singing and the song is BRUTAL. There are a few others the CD could do without and aren't really "All Time" favorites. They definitely missed a few on this one.

Sesame Street Geniuses

I don't know who loves this cd more, my daughter, my husband, or me. Of course my daughter loves it because every kid loves Sesame Street. But for my husband and I it is a blast down memory lane. Sesame Street has been running for over 35 years so nearly every song that comes on you can catch us singing too. It really is great fun for the whole family. It is so easy to be silly when one of the Sesame Street cds is on. It is great at home, but really great in the car on long road trips. A great buy, [for any age :)] Highly recommended by "torri'smom" who once was a Sesame Street kid herself.

This is a great CD!

A Must Have!

This is a fantastic CD. My son is 18 months old, and just loves it. It's all the old favorites that I remember myself as a child. And, I think it's the original recordings too because the character voices are the ones from years ago, not today. We just got back from Sesame Place, and they play all these same songs in the background around the park. My son loved it, especially because he recognized the songs from his CD. It's also nice and long, so it keeps him happy for awhile whether at home or in the car.

A classic full of fun for the whole family

I find myself singing "put down the ducky", "rubber ducky" "being green" under my breath at work or at home- and I myself giggle. My husband and I recently drove to South Carolina from CT and this cd put loads of smiles on my sons face. If he gets finisky we pop it in and in an instant- he's listening and laughing. How could anyone not love Sesame Street.

Makes my baby DANCE!!

over-rated

This CD does have a good assortment of songs from the TV show. My 2 year old loves "Elmo's Song". However the quality of the singing in some of the songs is really bad. The theme song is particularly awful. It is sung off key by children that apparently have no talent. My son likes this CD, but I am very grateful that it is not among his favorites. I am a musician and can't stand to listen to it. The Barney, Dragon Tales, & Wiggles CDs are all much better.

Still 5 years old at heart

I love this CD!!!! I got the original Seasame Street album for my 5th birthday. I listened to it so much that I warped it. When my son was 7 months old I bought it to calm him during long car trips. The first time I heard "sunny day...." I started to cry. What an awesome experience! I was sharing one of my favorite childhood things with my son. Four years later, I've celebrated the 1st birthday of my second child and we've just ordered our second copy of the CD. I guess loving Seasame Street music runs in the family!!!!! Enjoy!

LOVE IT!!!

We purchased this CD a few months back and my son loves it. If you grew up on Sesame Street like I did, you'll already know most of the songs! My son especially loves the "Moon Song" and requests it EVERY time we get in the car. In fact, we have gotten a cranky little boy to sleep more than once by riding around listening to the "Moon Song" and others on the CD. Definitely worth purchasing!

Sunny Days - Chasing the Rain Away

This CD is timeless. If you have young children, or just want to relive your own childhood days, I highly recommend it.

But beware, your kids may not want to listen to anything other than this disc. Whenever I attempt to put a new CD into the CD player, my two year old child picks this CD off the rack and asks me to play it - "This CD, Daddy? - How 'bout this one?" I usually accommodate him. This CD brings back wonderful childhood memories for me, and is much more tolerable than Barney and Friends.

Even though he very rarely watches the Television Program or videos, our son knows and sings along to almost all of the songs - and so do my wife and I. This CD is truly something the whole family can enjoy. It also has educational benefits, having helped my child continue to develop his vocabulary. I love hearing my son say - "What an absolutely marvelous wonderful word" from the beginning of the ABC song. As soon as the first note of the Theme song begins, his face lights up, no matter what he was doing. The song literally brings a smile to his face and chases the frowns away. That in turn brings a smile to my face. He giggles and laughs as he sings along to "Who Are the People In Your Neighborhood". I even discovered him having a conversation with Ernie (in the speakers) when the "Rubber Duckie" song came on. And while I'm not a big fan of Elmo's voice, my two year old loves singing Elmo's Song. There is something special about seeing your child enjoy the music you enjoyed as a child.

We make our own homemade compilation CDs for car trips, which allows us to take our favorite children's songs and mix them up with some classical music. One or two children's songs followed by one or two classical pieces makes for a nice mix, and makes car trips less stressful for the family.

Sesame Street is still great

My daughter, 17 months, loves to watch Sesame Street. So I decided to purchase this to help keep her entertained in the car. She gets so excited now when we go in the car, because she knows we will be playing her music. She loves all the songs, and it's great that some of the songs are ones that my husband and I remember from our days watching Sesame Street. It's nice to see that we are able to share the some of the music we grew up with, with our daughter.

Brings back memories

When I bought this cd, I was transformed to my childhood since my husband and I were part of the original Sesame Street generation. Now that we have a 9 month old, we would like to share some of our fond memories of Sesame Street with him. The music is timeless, nostalgic and fun to listen to. Our baby quiets down when listening to this cd, and seems to really enjoy the catchy tunes and cleverly written songs. On our long road trip during vacation this summer, my husband and I found ourselves singing the old familiar songs and learned a few new ones we haven't yet heard. If you love Sesame Street as much as we do, this is definitely a keeper.

You can sing them with your kids when the CD isn't playing. We love to sing "Rubber Duckie" at bath time and "I Would Like To Visit The Moon" before bed at night. The music and lyrics are enjoyable for adults as well as kids.

Allows you to be a kid again

This CD allows you to be a kid again. I find myself listening to the songs even when my child is not in the car. The Rubber Duckie song is a classic, one I have remembered since my youth. The songs are easy to learn and are short enough for young children to remember the words. This is a very upbeat album and each song is unique and imaginative.

Elmo's Song!

This CD was a lifesaver for us. My infant son hated his carseat rides until we got this CD. He especially likes the first song and "Elmo's Song." We've been listening to it for months, and had to buy two CD's so we would have on in the car and one in the house. Mommy and Daddy like "Elmo's Song," but we also like the old favorites from when we watched Sesame Street as children. Ernie's "Rubber Ducky" song is a real classic!

Who Doesn't Love Sesame Street?

This was one of my personal favorite cds at the children's radio program I used to work on and it still remains as one of my favorites in my own collection. Most of the best songs from Seasame Street are included on this album, from "Rubber Ducky" to "Sing". My personal favorites are "I Don't Want to Live on the Moon" and "We Are All Earthlings". Children of all ages will love this albums and for those adults who no longer consider themselves a kid, this album is sure to bring back a few memories and make you feel like a kid again.

Peaceful drivng with your toddler!

I have an eighteen-month-old daughter who demands this CD as soon as we get into the car. The songs are upbeat, original, and keep my daughter dancing. More importantly she is so entertained that she actually stays in her carseat and enjoys the ride. You will find yourself singing along, but the songs stay fresh even after your child listens to them over and over and over. . . I highly recommend this CD, it is a classic and the best of Sesame Street!

This CD saved my life!

My son would not tear himself away from the tv until I put this CD on. Now he actually plays with his toys and listens to the music and dances. And instead of screaming in the car he sits back and enjoys the music, and holds the cover of the cd and stares at the characters. The CD has enough in it for adults to enjoy, and my 19-month old son thinks it's the greatest. He actually climbs into his carseat willingly when I tell him that he can only hear the cd if he is seated and strapped in. I have to get more cd's like this eventually. Wonderful!!

Your kids might like it as much as you

Who cares if your kids like them. You will love it. I have no kids, and am an otherwise intelligent adult and love it.

Missing are a few favorites, most notably "Will Somebody Come and Play" which is by no doubt available elsewhere.

Sadly thrown on at the end is the terribly politically correct, "We Are All Earthlings" which sounds more like a propaganda song than the more tasteful (and effective) song about discrimination, "Bein' Green."

The sum total? Fun, singable, witty. Yeah, all that, and your kids will probably like it too.

A Big Favorite in our House

I bought this CD on a whim and couldn't have spent my money better. My 2 1/2 year old daughter listens to this so often, I have a taped copy in my car and one in her bedroom. Even my husband and I find ourselves walking through the house singing "Fuzzy and Blue" or "The Monster in the Mirror". Fun for anyone of any age who has ever enjoyed Sesame Street.

A Must Have

I started playing this CD when my child was 3 months old - I play it in the car - sing certain songs in the tub - basicially anytime I hear a cry about to start (due to boredum) I break into "Fuzzy and Blue" and she's instantly quiet. She is now 10 months old and still LOVES it.

"Excellent classroom resource!"

As a special education teacher of children aged 4 - 9 in New York City, Sesame Street plays an important part of their lives. So it only makes sense to have an extensive Sesame library on hand, videos and CDs, for incorporating into lessons, making for even more fun. This one is the best of the best ... classics from my youth as well as theirs ... and fetures all the chaacters (some albums are great, but focus on just one or two characters, and these days, if "it ain't Elmo ... it ain't Sesame." In our class, this and Elmopalooza are most requested.

This is the best CD in the whole world!!!

I am 13 years old and yet I am not afraid to admit that this is my favorite CD. My 2 year old cousin was listening to it when I went to visit her and when I heard it I remembered listening to it when I was her age. I was sad because I was reminded of the innocence I once had while listening to that CD, but then realized I could still enjoy it without shame because Sesame Street rules and I don't care if people find it unacceptable for a teenager to like Sesame Street. Anyway, this CD is the best because it has all my favorite songs from my childhood on it. Also, each song has a valuable message that kids--or anyone, for that matter---can apply to their everyday behavior as set by the examples of Big Bird, Elmo, Grover, Snuffy, Bert, Ernie and more. And if you like Sesame Street, you will love the Muppets. They are puppets made by the creator of Sesame Street, Jim Henson, who, by the way, is no longer with us. The Muppets include a cast of a frog named Kermit, a pig nam! ! ed Miss Piggy, a bear named Fozzy, and more. You can rent a Muppet movie at just about any of your local video stores and they are also occasionally on selected premium cable channels. Thank you, that's all I have to say. Really.

Great for adults and kids to enjoy together

My two year old daughter loves this CD, and so do I. It holds her attention just as well as TV does, and what a great alternative! Some of the songs (Sesame Street Theme, Big Bird's Alphabet Song, Rubber Duckie) sound like the same recordings that I remember from 25+ years ago when I was growing up with Sesame Street. Others (Put Down the Duckie, Elmo's Song) are more recent. All are great!

A delightful toe tappin CD that children under two will love

Sesame Street Platinum is a delightful CD. My little one is under two and enjoys the rhythms and different voices from each song. Plus the songs are not childish. All of the tunes are very modern and include a delightful message about caring, sharing and being yourself.
