LeapFrog® Leapster® Learning Game: Disney Princess - Leapfrog Reviews
Love this Game
Qber from Rocky Mountains - 5 out of 5.
This game was purchased for my daughter's 4th birthday. She has loved it. She loves being different princesses and collecting jewels. She ability to recognize different letters and numbers by their names has increased beyond just what she has learned thus far in preschool. We have five different leapster games, but she wont play any of the others anymore.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.

A very good choice for a 2 1/2 year old and up!
Susan Menno from North Wales, PA - 5 out of 5.
We bought a Leapster and this game for my 2 1/2 year old for Christmas. She loves this game and it only requires minimal assistance and supervision from me verses many of the other games. I really wish Leap Frog came out with more games like this one.Ava can handle any of the games on this cartridge that work with the pen. The game plays two songs, Part of Your World and Bibbity Bobbity Boo (sorry for the spelling). She doesn't need to interact to enjoy those two songs, though by picking little items on the screen "magical things can happen" such as the mice turning to horses, and fountain turning on and off. Another favorite of hers is both princesses have a screen where by touching the screen in the dark sky you make fireworks appear, including shapes from the movies (Flounder, Ariel, etc.) or even Ava's name.
She is also learning better pen control and how to draw her letters and shapes by tracing the footsteps on the dance floor. When she correctly completes the shape, the prince and princess dance along the shape. This is more challenging for her and sometimes she gets frustrated, so I do work closely with her to help her, but it is worth it. Within a few hours of receiving this on Christmas day and only about an hour of combined play, she had significantly improved her pen control and ability to properly hold the pen. Prior to that evening all she did was wild scribbling when she tried to draw something, but that night she pulled out her magnadoodle (another must have) and drew a picture of her daddy (eyes, nose mouth and hair) we were all blown away by this, and I can attribute this to nothing but her use of the Leapster and this game specifically. We took a picture of the magna doodle because we could hardly believe what she drew.
I would highly recommend this game for any princess lover, and specifically for those who are looking for a game for a much younger child (not that it is suitable and challenging for the older ones too).

I got this to go along with the Leapster that I gave my Granddaughter for her third birthday. I can't comment specifically on this cartridge but she loves the Leapster0 people voted this review as helpful and 2 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Present for my grand-daughter
Anonymous - 5 out of 5.
I live in the UK and use Amazon.com to buy gifts for my family in Denver.I have not seen the toy in question, but my grand-daughter loves Disney and, in particular, the Princesses. I understand from my son and daughter-in-law that it is a very popular item and that it has helped my 4-year-old grand-daughter with her learning.

Fabulous game for girls!!
Brooke Colvin from Arizona - 5 out of 5.
I bought this game for my daughter's 5th birthday. She loves princesses, so this game was perfect for her. She loves all of the characters and learning activities that it comes with. I like that you can choose which level you want to play each game, so it can be played at many different learning stages. Right now she is just learning how to put letter sounds together to read simple words, but eventually when she can read more words she will be able to do the more difficult levels. This game really is so fun for girls and I love that she is actually learning something while she's playing instead of just staring at a screen or playing with something that isn't very stimulating. My 3-year-old daughter loves to play around with game on the Leapster too. She doesn't really know how to play the games yet, but she loves the princess characters and she is quite entertained by it as well. We have only had our Leapster for a few months, but it has been such a great learning tool and fun activity - I just wish we bought it and the Disney Princess game a long time ago! I would definitely recommend this game to anyone!!1 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Outstanding Game!
M. Helt from Bellingham, WA - 5 out of 5.
I read the reviews before I bought this and they were not that great. I bought it solely because my daughter loves the Disney princesses. Well, this turned out to be her favorite game and I love it too! It teaches so many great skills and the best part is it is so encouraging even when mistakes are made. My daughter tends to give up when she makes mistakes but with this game she just keeps plugging along because it never makes her feel bad it just keeps guiding them forward. The games are very cute and very educational. She is learning the correct way to write her letters, gaining lots of hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Definitely a must have for the princess fan!1 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.

Great buy, my niece loves it!
Aka from Washington DC - 5 out of 5.
Great product, my niece loves it. Amazon delivered it on time! The external cartridge games are great but it also comes with few games/paintbrush type programs that keep the kids busy for hours learning colors and shapes.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Hard to compete correctly but still good
J. Bauer from Gilbert, AZ USA - 3 out of 5.
I just bought the Leapster for my 5 y.o. daughter. I wanted something she could play with in the car that was educational. She took to it right away and has needed very little help from me. I bought 3 games-this one, Dora Wildlife Rescue, and Kindergarten. She begged me for this one, but it is very challenging. I tried myself to trace the letters and you have to get it right on. You can not stray from the line and you can not go too far or it has you do it again. It's very precise and frustrating even for me. Her favorite is the onboard games and Dora. She does keep trying though b/c it's Princess, it just doesn't hold her interest for very long. There are quite a few games on this one though, I think they are the same but have one for Cinderella and one for Ariel.4 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Great product for handicapped sister!!
Lauren de Lynd from UTAH, USA - 5 out of 5.
My handicapped sister loves this game. It helps her concentration level a great deal. Some more advanced children might not enjoy and become bored. In her case it's been a great game.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.

Great for Princess fans!
doubletrouble from NC - 5 out of 5.
If your little girl loves the Disney Princesses, she will love this Leapster game. My 5 year old twins fight over who gets to use this cartridge in their Leapster. I see no problems with the graphics, and really like the game where they can trace letters of the alphabet. One of my girls has a lazy eye and problems with fine motor skills and it has been great for her! My other daughter especially enjoys the game that you get to design a dress for Cinderella at the end.4 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
My daughter loves Leapfrog Princess
Erik Eisel from Huntington Beach, CA - 5 out of 5.
Ever since we bought the Leapfrog, I have been impressed by the educational value of the game, which zeroes in on "problem-solving" skills. As well, it helps kids with their hand-eye coordination.A young girl will love the Princess game, which also contains many songs.

A childs dream that could be better
Ridenslide from San Diego, CA - 3 out of 5.
When my daughter got the Leapster from her grandma for her birthday, I got her 3 game cartridges to play with and being absolutely in love with all the Disney Princesses, I really expected 2 things:1. She would love the Disney Princess Leapster games and really learn from them.
2. The Leapster Disney Princess Game Cartridge would be a high quality learning tool.
Well, so far, neither is working out. My daughter still loves the princesses and she really loves her Leapster L-Max but the Disney Princess game cartridge has been a bust. The graphics are extremely poor quality and it does not translate well to the TV. The learning quality of the games is minimal at best. I am so disappointed especially since these cartridges cost almost $25.00 each. I purchased the Animal Adventure Cartridge at the same time and she can't put it down. Make no mistake. The Leapster L-Max is awesome and she loves it. It's the Disney Princess Cartridge that just doesn't make the grade.
I'm sorry I can't recommend the princesses but it really needs a lot of work to be worth it.

a must
Carrie F. Cheney from Austin - 5 out of 5.
My daughter got this game when she was 4 and still loves it (she is 5 1/2). It teaches handwriting, math concepts, listening skills and it goes on for a long time unlike the other games that are over in 20 minutes. It also gets them to use their fine motor skills. I am a former teacher and I tell all my friends with girls this is the game to have. I have to disagree that this game is silly and noneducational. I think it is very appropriate for the 3 1/2 to 5 age range depending on your child. I think that once your child reaches kider they might be too advanced for it, but still love to play it.Do all games have to prepare children for being rocket scientist? Can't kids be kids and just play with something that they enjoy? I give it a BIG thumbs up!

This game has helped my daughter with her writing!
A. Bourg - 5 out of 5.
My 3 year old got this game a few months ago and is only 3 and a half right now. She has started writing her letters because of the Cinderella dancing game and had even built enough confidence to start writing her own name. I was not sure she was ready for a leapster when she turned 3 but slowly she has built tremendous confidence with it and is now completely on her own. This game will help your child tremendously and a must have for your child's leapster collection, the results have impressed me!

My daughter loves this game and all the little games that it has. It teaches how to write letters, which is a real help since she is left-handed.13 people voted this review as helpful and 3 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Display of high scores
T. DePew from Auburn, California USA - 2 out of 5.
My daughter loves this game as any mention of a princess will win her over. There is one problem with this game and that is in the High Score area. It will leave the set amount of high scores in memory even if you delete/replace those player names on the intro screen. The problem is that if you have older children playing this game and racking up big scores, you may never give the younger child the chance to see her name on the display. Since this is a goal oriented game, this may mean you will have to buy another cartridge. Leap Frog said this is also on other game cartidges they produce. It seems that they should have a way to delete high scores so that if you want to hand the game down to other children, they will have as much fun getting their name on the scoreboard.
When i bought this game and played it, it was apparent this had been a return because it was already loaded with names and scores. I took my daughters leapster to the store and opened up enough games to find one that had not already been used.
In addition, this game is far less effective in the volume of learning skills than some of the other cartidges (ie. draw & write, Nemo, Dora).
It is a shame that the one cartidge every little girl is going to want, couldn't have been better thought out and with more content.
It gets two stars because my daughter would not let me give it a one.

Cute game
K. Carmer - 4 out of 5.
My 5yr old got the leapster for Christmas and loves this game. From my perspective it is a little young for her since she already knows all her shapes, letters and numbers but on the other hand she figured out how to play all the games quickly and can do them all by herself. She has several other leapster games that are more educational but she likes this one best because she doesn't need mommys help at all.17 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
My daughter's favorite Leapster game!
Mom of one sweet girl! - 5 out of 5.
My daughter, who is 4 and VERY into the Disney Princesses, absolutely adores this game. It's her very favorite Leapster title. She's earned her third tiara recently and is very proud. One plus to this game is that it does have the child work on handwriting, which is helpful for us as my daughter doesn't like to work on her penmanship! This one is an absolute "must" if your girl is into the princesses!22 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
More fun than educational
Maria from Northwest - 3 out of 5.
My 3 & 4 y.o. daughters love this cartridge, but the games are a little silly in my opinion. I'm not sure what the fireworks game is supposed to teach (fireworks explode wherever the pen is pointed). There are also two games that just play songs. There is a more educational game w/ Gus that teaches shapes, numerical order, etc. The magical footsteps also teach writing skills. I still expect more from Leapfrog, although my daughters do prefer the Princess games to the others. I would recommend the Dora cartridge if you're looking for more of an educational game. I'm glad I got this on sale-it's definitely not worth the retail price.

Learning tool?
maureen - 3 out of 5.
My 4 year old daughter loves the game. With that said, all I see her playing on it is one song and a game where you follow Cinderellas shoes down a path. I'd like more ABC's and 123's learing on the game(s).16 people voted this review as helpful and 1 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Not as good as other cartridges
Tammy M. Simmons from Folsom, CA - 2 out of 5.
I bought this cartridge for my 5 year old and she has a very hard time seeing what you are supposed to be doing. The graphics are not very clear. She gets so frustrated that she prefers to play with the other games. Had I know what the graphics looked like, I would have never purchased it.37 people voted this review as helpful and 1 people voted this review as unhelpful.

Not so great
Mom of 2 from California - 2 out of 5.
I just bought this for my 3 year old and I have to say that compared to the other games, this one is not great at all. My daughter finds it too difficult and I think the games are boring. The Dora and Nemo games are far superior to this one and my daughter has played with those two games on and off for over a month. I'm glad I got this on sale because it didn't hold my daughters attention for even 5 minutes- I'm hoping that it will be more fun when she gets a little more coordinated but I don't think so.16 people voted this review as helpful and 1 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Good but others are better
Karen A. Vanginkel from Ontario, Canada - 3 out of 5.
My daughter likes this game, but it lacks something that most of us are used to from leapfrog. The content is Poor compared to the other games out there, and my daughters attention is not held as long on this cartridge compared to others even though she is crazy about anything disney princess! I think they could have done alot better with this product, and If I had known the content of this game I would not have bought it, Just because there are other games that are better. If you are looking to purchase it for the learning aspect over the fun aspect try something else.19 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Must be a good one
Mary from NC - 5 out of 5.
I bought both my daughters a leapster for Christmas 2004. This cartridge was one of the ones we also purchased. This is their favorite one.
There is a fireworks show where when you touch the screen with the pen (or finger) fireworks appear. Their favorite feature is when their name appears in the fireworks.
It is such a cute game.

I am so impressed with this game. It motivates my 4 year old girl to write letters over and over again with Cinderella dancing across her work as a reward. The graphics are wonderful. In another game, my daughter is compleing simple addition and number equations with Ariel. I'm thrilled!14 people voted this review as helpful and 3 people voted this review as unhelpful.

My daughter loves the leapster. She has every game made and she loves this one. My favorite part of this game is dancing with cinderella. My daughter needs help with writing and she gets to collect jewels in her treasure box as she traces over the letter. The game encourages her to keep trying and at the end she watches cinderella dance, as well as count her jewels. Disney Princess has many other games on this cartridge and she loves them all.120 people voted this review as helpful and 6 people voted this review as unhelpful.
