Up Up not good for Falling Down

Shilom from MI - 4 out of 5.

This is a great Elmo, one of the funnest and best out there, if only it was more durable. After a few tumbles (and let's face it, with it being directed at toddlers there will be tumbles) it's limbs just don't move right, or don't all move, anymore. It wasn't long before he was motionless altogether, but she still loves him. He still talks, too. He just no longer moves. I had also bought one for my newphew and he has the same problem with his. So all in all, it's still pretty worth it, but be aware the moving won't last.

cute but not cuddly

F. Sims from Lindale, TX USA - 4 out of 5.

My 16 month old got this for Christmas and she loves it! She laughs and dances when he sings and understands when he asks to be picked up and hugged. The only drawback to it is that it is very HARD. It is not something she could snuggle in bed with. I think she would enjoy that a lot, but then if it was softer, it would not be able to sit up, kick legs, etc...

Very Cute but not Quite Cuddly

Texas Mommy from Friendswood, TX - 4 out of 5.

I bought this last Christmas for my 1 year old. It's very durable and seems to "hug" the little ones just right. Both my three year old and my youngest play with it. I wish it was just a little softer because it would be more cuddly but it's still a great toy and says the cutest things like: "Put Emlo down!", "Elmo up!" and "Put Elmo down!". Very cute toy, especially for the price. Big Lots and WalMart has this toy for $19.

A little disappointed

ABerg from Minnesota - 3 out of 5.

My 2-year old absolutely adores Elmo but is disinterested in this toy. I think it is super cute and fun, but she is just not that into it. It may be a matter of personal preference, but I am not sure it was the best money that I have spent for a toy.

Its cute but...

RED from Maryland - 2 out of 5.

This Elmo toy is cute but it is hard, not cuddly. It is a little frightening to a sensitive child also. The voice is pretty garbled and hard to understand, so I don't think there is much educational value. and it is expensive for a stuffed doll, that is really ugly if you don't know what Elmo is... those bulging eyes..yuck.

Amanda J. Thomas from Bristol, PA USA - 2 out of 5.

I bought this toy for my three year old daughter, She LOVES Elmo. I thought it was so0o cute and concidering shes in that "I want to take care of my baby" stage, I thought a baby Elmo, awesome! But when she opened it and started to play, I thought it would do and say more then it does. Im glad I didnt pay the 22.00 theyre charging in the stores or Id be really upset.

Cute toy. Lots of fun.

Scott J. Nebeker from Utah - 4 out of 5.

My daughter loves this toy. It's a very clever idea. It is a little heavy for the size and the middle is hard due to the electronic box. Not a toy for a "lovey" to cuddle with, but it's a ton of fun to play with. Both my 3 year old and my 1 year old have a ball with him. They especially love the song he sings. I really like that he says more than one thing and the things he says seem to be a little random which is fun for them. Good purchase. I would do it again easily.

My daughter loves it!

Marcie Hatfield from Columbus, OH USA - 5 out of 5.

This was my 8 month old's favorite Christmas gifts. She loves Elmo, and "Up Up Elmo" is her new favorite Elmo toy. She eats his eyes and nose, and smiles broadly whenever he sings his song. A great gift!

cute but not soft

Bean Mommy - 4 out of 5.

I bought this toy for my 14 month old daughter. She loves to push the tummy and make it sing but it is not soft and plush like it is advertised. The fur is soft but you can feel the metal underneath. All in all it is really cute but not cuddly

love elmo

gramma new york - 5 out of 5.

I bought 2 of these for my youngest granddaughters. One is age 2 and the other 15 months. You can't go wrong, (who doesn't love elmo). I have 9 granddaughters the oldest 15 and I have been purchasing elmo all these years. They are always learning something from elmo or just laughing with him. Most important they learn to love with elmo. Looking forward to seeing what future elmo's can do. He's the best.

Lots of Fun for my 1 year old

Mary J. Moesch from Green Bay, WI - 4 out of 5.

Our 13 mo. old received this for Christmas. He loves Elmo and I wanted to buy him one that talks, but didn't want to spend a lot of money. This Elmo doll isn't very cuddly, but he loves to pick him up and hug him. He seems to like it that this Elmo talks to him.

Great Elmo toy

tinabtw from Northridge, CA - 4 out of 5.

My son loves this Elmo. He got it for his first birthday because I fell in love with it in the store. The voice, phrases and songs are so cute without being overly obnoxious (as I find TMX to be). I knocked off a star because, as the previous reviewer said, it isn't soft. You can definitely feel the mechanics and voicebox beneath the fur. However, I did not purchase this toy for it to be a 'lovey' or for my son to sleep with, so I really don't mind that. I bought it as a toy for him to play with - which it excels at.

NEITHER Soft NOR Cuddly

MK from South Bend, IN - 1 out of 5.

This product is described as "Elmo is soft and cuddly and full of cute phrases." When I received it, I found out that it as about as soft as a brick wrapped in fabric. The main portion of the body appears to be solid plastic (contains the sounds and motors for movements) and there is no padding under the red fabric. I am VERY disappointed in the description of this product and really hope my nephew will still like it. It sounds like its fun and interactive, but it is NOT soft.

See him on the store shelf? Up up and into the cart

Jennifer N. Johnson - 5 out of 5.

We bought our son this at age 28 months. He'd never had a lovey or a blankie or a pacifier or any other of those typical comfort things. Weird, huh?? We thought so too. But as soon as this Elmo was out of the box... he became a part of the family. He ever wants him in the bath. Easy on batteries and a truly adorable toy. It has sensors or something so it actually interacts w/ the child... seems like Elmo is literally talking right to you. Reasonably priced and well worth it
