Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Cookie Shape Surprise - Fisher Price Toys & Games Reviews
10 month old daughter loves this!
A. Amanda from Brick, NJ United States - 5 out of 5.
We got this for my daughter when she was about 6 months old and since then she absolutely loves it. The music can get a bit annoying for us, but it's easy to turn off and she could care less about it. At 10 months she's already putting the square and circle shapes into the proper holes. This is definitely a great toy.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Son's favorite toy
K. Reyna from SoCal - 5 out of 5.
I received this as a gift for my son's b-day, and this was his favorite out of all of them. He loves putting the "cookies" in the jar and can put on the lid. He loves to rock back and forth to the music it plays. There is only one shape that does not fit well, but it hasn't been an issue, and I take this toy whenever we go to visit relatives.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
holes too small for shapes
L. Kremer - 2 out of 5.
I bought this becasue my son loves his Fishbowl ( I think it's Fisher Price) and this is kind of the same idea with a container for things to go in and sounds when you drop things in/take them out, but I was very dissapointed that the shapes are really hard to get through their holes. Then, even if you can squeeze them through, once you get a few shapes in the jar you can't get the rest of the shapes though their holes becase the holes are at the very bottom and the shapes inside take up too much room to fit new ones in. It's cute if you just want to use it with the top hole, but the shape sorter holes weren't very well designed.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
fun, educational, durable ... but overall, TOO MUCH COOKIES
diane page from new york city - 2 out of 5.
I agree with the other posters in that the concept behind this toy is great: shape sorting, with the added bonus of color and number recognition. And I'm not against light/sound toys that offer reward when the task is done (ie, singing when you get the right shape in place). BUT the shapes are hard for our 17 month old to push all the way in. And the movement-activated noises are very annoying. Any time you put your hand in the center, or on the shapes, you get sound reward -- "yummy, cookies" is one. Our child doesn't yet eat or ask for cookies, so that's unfortunate. (This was a gift, I probably wouldn't have bought it myself if I'd heard the messaging.) We're pretty happy with the wooden Melissa & Doug version of this, I'd recommend it instead.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
too much emphasis on cookies!
e's mom from asia - 2 out of 5.
I was excited about getting this shape sorter because it's cute, has a lid, music, teaches shapes-- but no one mentioned how annoying this toy's emphasis on cookies is! I don't want my daughter's first words to be about how yummy cookies are, since she doesn't even eat them yet. yes, i know it's a "cookie jar" but i didn't realize the sounds that it makes is all about how the shapes are all of cookies and how yummy they are. it's a shame because the rest of the toy is pretty cute. Also, the shapes are somewhat difficult to fit in-- even for me!1 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Funny, coloured and educational

I like this toy very much, two years ago I first bought for my niece, now I bought for my baby. They both like it too much.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Great toy!
Jessica Hafner from Las Vegas, NV - 5 out of 5.
I love this toy. Unlike a lot of other newer toys, this toy has just the right amount of "educational input". It doesn't overwhelm by trying to teach the world to a child in one toy. The shape sorter has three settings: shapes, music, off. That's it. When set to "shapes", the toy tells you which shape was just slipped through a hole and every now and then it'll sing a cute little shape song. The words are also very clear, too. Plus, the toy has the ever-exciting lid, that my daughter just loves to remove and replace to put stuff on and dump back out. Overall, this is a wonderful toy. :)0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Good learning toy.
E. Foster from Yreka, CA USA - 4 out of 5.
This is a good learning toy for babies and toddlers. My 8 month old has taken much interest in the toy. The only annoyances are that one of the holes for the shapes is slightly too small, requiring a bit of effort to shove the shape inside, and the motion sensor from the top of the cookie jar constantly being triggered can be a little annoying. Other than that, the idea behind the shape designs identified by numbers with matching sides to the number make it a nifty and interesting toy for babies and toddler to learn with.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
SHAPES DO NOT FIT PROPERLY
Helen Mckenzie from Florida - 2 out of 5.
My kids both like this toy putting the shapes in and out of the top but I have the same problem as the other reviewer,,,the shapes on mine are WAY too tight to fit thru the shaped holes easily. It is hard for me to do and unless they are lined up exactly it will not work at all. Impossible for any toddler to do. Maybe this issue is not on all of them as other people do not seem to have the problem but overall I am VERY disappointed and will probably be donating this toy to good will next time I go! Fisher Price usually makes good toys but this one in my opinion is not.2 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Good times...
Dy Muniz from Dobbs Ferry, NY - 4 out of 5.
My son is 17 months old and is very much enjoying this toy. Durable but a little on the heavy side...he likes to carry his toys around from room to room. Laughs and dances when the music goes on. He is just getting the hang of putting the shapes in the slots.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
GREAT TOY! SUPER SHAPE SORTER
Natalie Metzger - 5 out of 5.
I almost didn't buy this because of the review that stated it was hard to get the shapes in. But, I really wanted to have a shape sorter from the Laugh and Learn line, so I tried it.This toy is great! Has darling songs, and my 1 yr old son has learned to get the shapes in the right spots without any problems, and the shapes go in easy and without any of the problems the other reviewer had.
One of the best features is the cookie jar lid. It helps keep the pieces inside, perfect for easy clean up! This has been one of my sons favorite toys this year!!

An update on a classic toy but I'd stick with the classic
iheart2shop from Seattle, WA USA - 4 out of 5.
My son got this toy for his 1 year birthday and we started letting him play with it around 15 months. At first he would just open the lid and take the shapes in and out of the jar that way. It was fun for him and fine by us. At around 18 months, he started to make an effort to put the shapes through the right openings. The problem is that the shapes don't fall in easily so he'd ask for help. If I had my choice, I would have gone with a classic wooden version of this toy because the shapes are solid blocks rather than hollow and plastic. The other reason I'd go with the classic version is that the constant singing and music gets really annoying for adults. I often just turn off the music so I don't have to hear it. So overall, my son likes this toy but I would have preferred the classic.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
great for little ones
JoAnn Stanley from Pineville, Louisiana United States - 5 out of 5.
the child this was purchased for is a little challenged and she just turned 2 years old, she absolutely loves this and play with it all the time. I would recommend this to all families with little ones.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
5 star toy
Karen from Monee, Illinois USA - 5 out of 5.
Don't ask me why, but this was one of our little one's absolute hands-down favorite toys from about 9 mo. through 3 1/2 yr. Must tickle something in the brain. Makes sounds when you put the cookies inside or take them out. Teaches cause and effect. I recommend this toy!0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
talking cookie jar
Jennifer L. Moy from Jackson, MS - 4 out of 5.
My son got this from his Nana when he was about 6 months old. He did not care for it at all since it only plays 1 song on either number or shape mode (2 songs total). Now that he is 11 months he's suddenly interested in this toy again. He likes to push the nose which lights up and says different phrases. When it laughs, he laughs too! he also likes to take the lid on and off. I gave up trying to show him how to put the shapes through the holes b/c they are very hard to push through. he has some circles from a different shape sorter and I glanced into his playpen last night while I was making dinner and he was putting circles through the right hole! all by himself! the only complaints I have at that there are only 2 songs and you have to switch modes to hear them. AND the shapes are too big for the holes.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
cute, but going back to the store because shapes are hard to fit in holes
Sharman L. Beltran from New Orleans, LA - 2 out of 5.
I have been searching for a shape-sorting toy for my 16-month old daughter. I chose this one because it had good reviews and because I found it in a local store (no shipping charges!). However, after playing with it for a few minutes, I realized that the shapes are very hard to fit into their respective holes, especially the square. Also, it seems that they can only go in one way, with the embossed-number-side facing in; otherwise, it is even harder to push them in. And, even when you line them up just right, the block sort of "catches" on the button that causes the corresponding song, and you have to put in some real effor to push the block in. I can only imagine how frustrating this must be to a baby just learning to shape sort - he/she finally gets the shape right, but can't manage to push it all the way in. Furthermore, even though this is a cute toy, I showed it to my baby for just a minute and she didn't even bother to try to play with it. It, along with the Fisher-Price Stride to Ride Lion, is not one of Fisher-Prices's best creations.8 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Smart Cookie . . . Jar!
Raul Garza, Jr. from TEXAS - 5 out of 5.
This is an excellent toy. My son recieved this toy when he was about 5 months old. He enjoyed playing with it often. Even now, at 2 years old, he still likes to play with it periodically. This is one of the finest examples of a learning toy. It's pefect for 6 months as you will see that your child will learn from this toy as he/she gets older. The jar will teach your child the numbers 1-5, basic colors and shapes. The little songs as you insert the shapes are cute and not annoying like some toy jingles can be. The younger the child is the more help they will need as all of the "learning" phrases come form inserting the shapes in their slots. Although, my son quickly found the button on the inner rims of the shape slots so he was able to listen to these phrases without putting the shapes in. As your child gets older he/she will become an expert at putting in the shapes and by then he/she will be an expert at shapes, colors and numbers 1-5.
It's also great fun for parents to play with thier child using this toy. Like the jar's phrases, you to can reinfoce the learning by asking him/her about the shapes, colors and numbers.
My son has had tons of fun with this Cookie Jar toy. I would put this toy on a "Must Have" list for any child.

Great toy
Angela M. Snowden from PA USA - 4 out of 5.
My daughter loves this toy. She counts when the teapot counts as she puts a number in. I love the fact that the shapes have the numbers on them at least I can find all of them without guessing which toy it belongs too.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
So Much Fun!
A. Campbell from MS - 5 out of 5.
Our 10 month old received this for Christmas and I must say, no matter how many toys she is playing with at the time, she always spend more time with this one. It gives me joy to see her try to fit the shapes (wrongly for now) into the spaces. I love the music too. Very nice product.0 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Kids love this thing!
Chris from Houston, TX - 4 out of 5.
We have purchased this toy for at least three children including our own. She is 1 and loves the noises and putting the pieces in the jar, as well as making noise with the top of the cookie jar anywhere she can! I recommend this for a 6mos old and above.3 people voted this review as helpful and 2 people voted this review as unhelpful.
Very NICE !!!!
Sunil Khatri from Chicago, IL - 5 out of 5.
Lots and lots of fun for a little one. It teaches shapes, develops skills to place the right shape in the right slot and the music is a bonus. It is so good that even my 4 year old likes to monkey around with it once a while.3 people voted this review as helpful and 1 people voted this review as unhelpful.
shapes don't fit well...
E. Silva from Boston, MA - 3 out of 5.
My son received this toy as a gift for his first birthday. He loved putting the shapes in through the top of the jar and taking them back out, and loved being able to take the lid on and off. The music is cute, too. However, now that he is a little older (almost 15 months) and ready to really sort the shapes, he gets frustrated trying to fit the correct shapes into their corresponding holes. The shapes are too big for their holes, which makes it a very tight squeeze. In order for me to fit, say, the star shape into the star hole, I have to hold the cookie jar tightly with my other hand and really forcefully push the shape through. There is no way my son could do that on his own, which he finds frustrating. Although I think this toy was a cute idea and is fun to use when just putting shapes in and out the top, I think it really should be redesigned to work better as a shape sorter...21 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
This toy is a keeper!
Mom23crazykids from NC - 5 out of 5.
We bought this toy for my oldest daughter 4 or 5 years ago. She loved this toy so much that we have gotten a new one for our baby. The shape sorter is a great learning tool and she likes to take the lid off and put it back on by herself. But her favorite thing about this toy is the music!!6 people voted this review as helpful and 0 people voted this review as unhelpful.
